I woke up at 6 in the morning for just a bit of chilling time before the wedding and made myself breakfast and coffee and i went out on the balcony with it …it was raining and i was like oh man this has got to stop eventually but as i sat there having breakfast and just taking in the sunrise the rain stopped and the sun came out on this beautiful day…i took it all in before the craziness begins with a few deep breaths and off i went to begin this marathon of a day. I gave hubby a kiss told him I loved him and off i went to the salon for the primping to start!! Hair and makeup here we come and it is not without trepidation that this happens. As I want to make sure that everything is done well I spare no expense on this day just like I did for my daughter’s wedding.

I went to primp the day before and got my mani and pedi and now it’s the most important finishing touches. My hair gets done and everyone in the salon is wow look at you your hair is looking great. Now on to makeup where I explain that i don’t want a lot just a natural look…and we begin the process. She starts putting on the creams etc and I am sitting there just trying not to wipe my face like a child does when they don’t like something. You see I hate cream in general so I resist the urge like the grown ass adult that I am to swipe it all off my face all the while just waiting as I can feel it drying and making me itchy here and there. So i scratch my nose and the girl doing my makeup was like oh no !! Don’t itch! as I apologize she reapplies what i rubbed off. It seems to me like she is applying a lot of makeup and I will need to scrape it off my face at the end of the night. I am finally finished at the salon and hubby and I are in constant contact as this day is timed like a Swiss watch. I now need to get home, dress etc and go and meet my son and his groomsmen for pictures !! When we arrive there the first thing we are told is that the photographer is late…I’m like well that’s not good !! Then we get the news that the photographer is not coming here ….and please take out your phones and start snapping pics! I think to myself well this is going to be a shit show !! But everyone is taking it in stride and watching the clock as we go on. I go outside to see my besties, the dogs as they are there too and an over exuberant Mr D just jumps up beside and plops a big wet kiss on my face. I resist the urge to wipe it off as I look at the guys and say well there goes my makeup !! They just laugh knowing how anxious and excited they are but they don’t know what is going on there has been so much busyness that even they are confused…so i give them the attention they want and we carry on. At some point we get a call that saves us from taking random pictures as there is a photographer that the family knows and she was free and able to drop everything and come and do pictures for us !! Oh thank God for that !!! NO stress none at all! And voila we have beautiful pictures now.

Arriving at the venue more photos and more back and forth here and there and everywhere. I don’t know when it happened but all of a sudden I see guests arriving and in think to myself now whatever happens all I need to do is smile and nod and carry on like nothing out of the ordinary is occurring! Then out of nowhere we are walking up the aisle and watching the bride and groom on their special day tie the knot. Whoot!!! We are having more pictures and at some point I realize that I have not eaten since 6am and look here comes a lady with a tray full of appetizers. Yummy but not for my tummy as she announces that these apps are for the bride and groom and stands a few feet in front of me. I was just like oh okay….then I’m like having an internal conversation and telling my body you paid for this you can have some. As my hand snakes out and takes a few from the tray. Before dinner time I realize that I don’t have my apple watch on and i forgot to take my meds …again internally i’m like i don’t want to walk all that way just to get meds. But considering I need to take them and no one else knows where they are I hurry over and grab them and swallow them without water as the bar just closed …that was a yucky experience!!! It was time to do the mother and groom dance and right before that I was talking with my friends about how the cobblestone and concrete pathways were murder on our feet, also a friend commented on how happy I look and I said yes I am happy it’s my son’s wedding day and my daughter is going to have a baby soon. Yes I am happy …then a few minutes later I say you know what else I am happy about??? My friends say what …..that in 5 mins i’m going to be out of these shoes !!! They burst out laughing!!! The simple things in life are the best !!
