Stay positive !!

Great words of advice given to me all the time from everyone.  But when the tables are turned and you are the one dishing it out.  While trying to keep in that mindset it’s difficult.  I mean nowadays who on God’s green earth doesn’t hear stuff from the Dr and then go to the internet and use “Dr. Google” to find out more?    Or perhaps like I did find more things then necessary which in turn gets my mind spinning and the dark thoughts come to play?   Oh hell yes !  In turn you want to smack yourself silly for doing it because every thought you have about  it and that person is dark?  Ummhmmm!  Why do I do these things? I’m trying to beat the Dr. into finding out what is potentially going to go wrong and how I will need to be positive for this person.   I do like to keep informed as to the good and the bad of the situation.  However, nothing can prepare you for a potentially poor diagnosis.   You don’t want the math to add up, because you don’t want the person to go through the same thing as you did with a positive HD diagnosis, or something similar.   Especially when you know that what you’re hearing doesn’t sound positive at all.  Just waiting for the results can make you go cuckoo.  Or waiting on the Dr’s office to call you about one appointment or another when the wait times are oh so very long.  It makes for a lot of sleepless nights along with waiting on pins and needles days to hear from them about anything.  When your appointment comes along you either find the solution to your issues or get referred yet again…best part is hopefully someone didn’t drop the ball on that referral making the wait time all that much longer.   It’s happened to me and then the dr’s office wonders why they always get follow up calls from me?? It’s really hard to be positive with speculation on a diagnosis, waiting on test results, or next steps.  Time is not our friend when going through anything of the sort so all we can really do is lean on your people along with family and friends to be a welcome distraction when needed!
