Last night I went to bed after yesterday’s exhausting day and slept like the dead! My mind did try to invade my sleep but it was told to go away and the flare bear even found a sleeping position that didn’t require me flopping around like a freshly caught flounder just coming out of the water. Today I actually feel like I got some semblance of sleep and I think the flare bear may be sleeping in so it’s a good day! I was a grumpy bear yesterday and

managed to get out and about did some running around not a lot. Picked up a few things but snapped when my hubby came around at dinner and was like never buy these burger buns again!! You try to go buy something different to have different taste experiences and go above and beyond? However every time that you try you get shutdown!! I made the effort and tried and here we go !! Back to the same old buns. So my grumpy tired self just walked away as it wasn’t worth the battle. Today with quality sleep oh my it may have turned ‘spicy’ lol. If I don’t sleep, pain and flare bear are in danger of sticking around longer !! So the more days in a row that are chained together with poor sleep, possibly because I am in some sort of pain or the brain just decides to have conversations at that moment in time….the greater the probability of a visit from the flare bear !!! Then when he comes around you get no sleep, very poor sleep and he sticks around longer. I am not a person that naps during the day either so my day is that much longer when it happens. It’s such a vicious cycle! So that when I do get a good night’s sleep I do feel like dancing in the streets because sometimes we are so entrenched in the pain journey that to speak about it is a rarity. No one asks anyone else how they slept last night, as it’s a given for the most part that they are functioning and doing well. But a person with chronic pain issues etc.. sleep is quite important as it can possibly shutdown a pain flare cycle.

Hello shutdown flare bear…..yes my friends. Help to heal some of whatever is going on in the body…yes. But now added in to all this as well is hot flashes! Which are another source of fun and add to the flipping and flopping needless to say it’s a hot mess! So when my physio asks did you get some sleep last night?? Sometimes I need to think about it. Most of the time it’s like no, not really. He knows my answer to that question is important to know, as it can be a good indicator as to what he could potentially be getting into with me as he knows how important sleep is. I occasionally wonder if I ever get into the deep sleep or other types of sleep they say we need. I know I go to sleep at a regular time but what happens after that is a mystery !!!
