I have to tell you about my hair. My hair has morphed into this mass of curly semi frizziness that only a hair stylist can do something with it. Over the years it has drastically changed and has been the subject of many discussions in my home. I have never had such an unruly mess of hair on my head. My philosophy about hair much to my mom’s chagrin was that when it grows too long you cut it and repeat. Her’s was always you must do something with it and have the latest and greatest style and put it in and updo, crimp it, and spray it with all the chemicals known to humankind to make it look beeuuutttiiiifffuuuulllll!!! I did attempt when I was younger to do all of the things to make my ramrod straight hair hold a curl tease it and put

moose in it (spelled wrong on purpose) because even if I put them on the job the strands would just go from curl to board flat in minutes. I had a poodle perm done back then was the rage even my highschool grad pictures are evidence of said crimes and my kids laugh at the “do”. My deal with my stylists over the years has been to give me a cut that is easily manageable. Several reasons I have never been a person with a talent for doing their own hair. Basics are best. So now with all the issues with my hands, arms, shoulders and neck. I have lots of limitations and I just can’t do my own hair. Sometimes I just don’t want to wear it up in a ponytail because depending upon where the tail comes out I can’t rest my head on the headrest in the car. Then when I wear it down it just ends up looking messy. I’ve come to the point that I do and don’t care about it at the same time. But unless I have a stylist on call all the time ….the ponytail is default! Nothing specific is taking the blame for the changes in my hair. I asked the dr’s, is it the meds?? It’s possible. I asked my hairstylist what I can buy to tame it? Nothing ! Honestly he could have sold me a bill of goods but he didn’t. Or said try this or this. But he said nothing… I’m keeping him. I asked everyone I could think of and they all gave me the same non committal answer no one knows. So I am going to tell you what I think it is…. I heard a podcast about ladies going into menopause and having drastic changes with their hair. So this is what I’m going with is the combo of meds+menopause it’s the best I can come up with.
