Million bag person

I have mastered the art of Grocery shopping albeit it did take me a very long time.  I still look at things from far across the aisle when I don’t know where something is or if I am looking for something in particular.  It’s all in the angle with me! Yes there are things that are too heavy for me to lift in the store to get into the cart and that used to be a problem where I either didn’t come home with it and sent out someone to get it for me.  Or swallow my pride and ask for help …yup 10lbs bag of potatoes.  Excuse me please? Can you please help me with the potatoes?

Thanks!  Or push the cart as close as possible to the item and roll it gently into the cart while holding the other side with your knee to make sure the cart doesn’t roll away.  That’s all well and done but eventually the cart gets harder to push and fuller and you can’t push it with your hands and arms anymore so what now?   We use our feet to push and our arms to steer !!! Here we go people!  Oh yeah it’s a full body activity.  Girls gotta do what she got to do!!  When I get to the checkout I have what hubby calls a million bags…because I pack things in a manner that I can carry and lift.  So yes I have a lot of bags compared to the regular person that could probably pack my entire grocery run into 3 bags full.   I respect that I used to be that person. I have had to evolve into this new million bag person and the 10lb potato bag rolling into the trunk person. I don’t even think about it!!!  When we lived in a house my neighbour would always ask me if he could help me with my groceries because I had so many bags I thanked him and said it was ok I could manage and I didn’t mind the back and forth with the bags.  Here in the condo I have now become a wagon lady! When I get home I go and grab my blue wagon, bring it to the car and I roll them up the elevator to the condo in style. I cannot imagine asking my husband who has worked a full day and has come home exhausted and used to have 1 million other things still to do on his plate to ask his to come and do the groceries with me.  Would he do it?? Yes. Will my pride let him do it NO!!!  NOT in my wildest dreams did it even run through my head.   Has he had to do it …yes occasionally and he dislikes it.  but I for whatever reason enjoy grocery shopping.  I like seeing all the new stuff out there and I take my time.  It takes me as long as it takes me and i bring it  home and unload.   Costco my friends however is an entirely different beast and for that I usually phone my mom to come and help….or that’s when hubby begrudgingly gets recruited.  However those runs are now few and far between so i am ok with that.  Maybe a bit more green in my wallet??  Hubby says not with me in the house !
