No Tape? NO BUENO!!

What’s it like without tape? Picture an overcooked spaghetti noodle or Gumby… extremely unsupported!  There are days when I feel like it’s that bad. But we manage LOL! My usual taping cycle is 5 days on and 2 days off. Anything different is weird and the body struggles to get into the right places for posture.  Even something as simple as keeping the shoulders back is hard because the second I go there they creep back to the spot they were in. As it’s something I need to constantly think about and actively do it is exhausting for me as it is painful.  For the normal person they just get up and go about their day.  Same for me when I’m taped up as I have the support and I feel sturdy and safe and in a state with less pain. But when you rip off that tape and stop itching for a bit the shoulders creep forward to the I want to become the hunchback it’s kind of like why can’t you just stay back there?  Sleeping without it is odd too as I am pretty sure if I could roll up into the fetal position it might just be the most comfortable thing in the whole wide world.  To be honest, who wants to think about posture in bed? Just curl up in a ball and sleep right? Oh no you have to explore all positions before deciding.  As you might have done something during the day to upset the feng shui of Mr Flare bear.  Sleeping with tape is better, less tossing and turning. But again this is all reliant upon if the flare bear hasn’t been poked. If he has then we are still ahead of the game because as we know the taping helps regardless of the flare bear.

But like always we are happy when he is sound asleep…better for everyone involved!  The running joke at physio is that I should have purchased shares in the company that makes it because of the amount I have already used.   When I was out west to visit my family and fell.  I bought tape in the store to try and re-create the masterpiece of taping that my physio does to alleviate some of my pain.  I found out quite quickly that the stuff they use at the clinic and in the store are entirely 2 different kinds of products …. just saying. A big part of my pain control is handled by taping. If I’m put in the right spots then some of the pressure to my neck is alleviated and then some pain to the neck and face is controlled … and it’s all about relief and I will take it as I can get it.   As for me with no tape hey we got to do that too sometimes…..but if we planned it better.   DOH !!!
