Hot flashes…menopause

A few days ago I went to see my family doctor as after my surgery my body has been feeling a bit off kilter with regulating it’s temperature in regards to hot flashes and such. My family dr ran bloodwork and it was confirmed a while back that I was in menopause so I knew this was coming, and I did get them!  So why were the ones in the hospital so wickedly intense and frequent and long ??   In seconds I was drenched from head to toe it was like I was caught in downpour and I was pressing the call button for the first person available to come help for a new gown and sheets.  My roommate was a guy and he was like are you ok?  I was like I have no freaking clue at this point am I reacting to meds?  Who came around the corner but the male nurse who had most of the floor in stitches and loved to bug me….he walked in the room looked at me.   Walked out of the room dying of laughter a few seconds later comes back in the room trying to control his mirth…while I am glowering at him.  At this point the whole room is in stitches because he’s a large man and just my look and my state….So he helps me out as the psw is busy elsewhere and brings me lots of ice water and cold compresses and charts all my ebbs and flows!  So at the hospital the drs say you need to talk to family dr about this… so I tell her this and we figure out that we missed a few doses of some of the meds that have been suppressing my hot flashes hence why they were never as bad as these.  That being said is the 2 drugs I take are usually the ones they use for people to suppress their hot flashes.  So the only other option I have is to try to go on Hormone Therapy, however the problem there is that they cause migraines. So because I am already being treated for face/neck/shoulder pain which  the medical community considers migraine pain…..then I maybe out of luck.

So I will need to check with evil face pain Dr.  Then she  sends me to the vampires for bloodwork because no visit is complete without that, and we will wait to see what the outcome is.
